Student bares all for 'Fear Factor'

Larinda Gann, one of USA's communication students faced her ultimate fears on NBC's show Fear Factor,April 15 as she walked nude down a catwalk in front of an audience and cameras.

Gannís agents helped her land the appearance on Fear Factor.This summer they sent videotapes of her to different shows. The show she wanted to get on was ìLost,î but someone at ìFear Factorî wanted her for the show.

Of the 15,000 people screened, only 30 men and 30 women were selected. She did an interview and then made a video of saying why she would be good for the show.

Basically I just told them about the crazy things Iíd done, Gann said.

Appearing on Fear Factor was not Gannís first time on television. She has also been the bikini model for Say What Karaokeon MTV. She plans to send her resume to MTV, VH1 and CMT.

In a few weeks, she will go to Dallas to audition for what she considers her dream jobó hosting ìWild On E!î a show featuring voyages around the world in search of hot party spots. If she cannot find a job as a television personality, Gann plans to be a television meteorologist.

She is currently working on her degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in meteorology. She also works three jobs. She is an aerobics teacher at Cory Eversonís, a cocktail waitress at the Double Olive and helps run GC Models and Talent in Daphne.

Gann got her start in the entertainment business by modeling. She always enjoyed classes like public speaking and argumentation and decided she wanted to be a television personality.

I would love to get paid just to be myself,Gann said.

Being on Fear Factor not only gave Gann national exposure, it also made her a stronger person and gave her a sense of accomplishment.

I had a blast. It was scary because I had no idea what to expect. Now, I won't ever back down from something because of fear,Gann said.

Gann was quit in the second round after biting into her second Madagascar hissing cockroach.
